ZHARA PASSITO
Denomination: IGP ( Indicazione Geografica Protetta) Terre Siciliane.
Moscato: Its origins date back to the Middle Eastern Mediterranean basin and it was the Greek colonists who spread it to Sicily. Its name derives from "Muscum", musk, whose characteristic aroma is found in grapes. The grapes have variable dimensions, spherical, with yellow colors that fade to greenish and golden as they ripen under the sun's rays. The vine is very aromatic.
The maturation gives a high concentration of sugars.
Grapes used: 100% Moscato.
FERMENTATION
The grapes, dried on racks, are pressed and left to macerate for about 5 hours, then they are softly pressed and fermented at 18 - 20°C.
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS
Color: deep yellow.
Aroma: intense and characteristic reminiscent of the fragrance of rose petals.
Taste: on the connoisseur's palate it is sweet, warm and robust.
COMBINATIONS
An end-of-meal wine, it pleasantly accompanies dried fruit and desserts.
Serving temperature: 12 - 15°C.
